Job Description: CNC Programmer / Machinist

The role of the CNC Programmer/Machinist is to program, set up, operate and supervise milling, lathe, and mill/turn jobs to meet customer demand and maintain high efficiency.

General Requirements
  • Minimum 10-years of experience in precision CNC job shop environment

Programming Responsibilities
  • Expert user of a recent version of MasterCam
  • Ability to program/edit using G-code
  • Understand prints and solid models
  • Calculate stock dimensions & identify special tooling needs
  • Look ahead to identify issues that reduce efficiency
Quality Requirements
  • Perform in-process and final inspections
  • Ability to hold tight tolerances

Mechanical Inspector I

The Mechanical Inspector I will perform and document quality control inspections, checks, and tests during the different stages of the manufacture and receipt of products. In addition, the Mechanical Inspector will be expected to make recommendations for improving processes. Reporting to the Director of Quality, this is a key role which ensures that we continue to provide high-quality parts to our customers.

This position could be part-time or full time depending on the needs of the company and the availability of the candidate.

General Requirements
  • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and 3-5 years of related experience
  • Strong math skills required
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, including geometric dimensioning and tolerances. Ability to measure in tenths and in both English and metric standards.
  • Ability to understand the principles related to metrology, gauging, and inspection.
  • Understanding of how to compensate for plating thicknesses
  • Experience within a manufacturing setting and an understanding of basic machining concepts
  • Ability to multitask while maintaining attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a team environment and effectively communicate with cross-functional groups
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate inspection skills and the technical ability to support all product lines
  • Perform first article and finished product inspections of mechanical elements to ensure conformance with engineering drawings
  • Verify dimensions of product with micrometers, calipers, height gauges, pin gauges, templates and go/ no-go gauges
  • Inspect conformance of receiving documentation
  • Learn, adhere and cooperate in the improvement of all Standard Operating Procedures and test methods

Job Description: Operator- Laborer – CNC Machine Shop

Operator – Laborers make sure that our shop remains productive, safe, clean, and organized. This position offers the opportunity to learn and gain manufacturing skills in a fast-paced environment, while performing a wide range of tasks each day.

CNC Machine Operation

  • Keep 1 – 4 machines running (depending on run time)
  • Ability to stand during shift
  • Report to Machinist responsible for the job
  • Clean or deburr while machine is running if possible
Shipping & Receiving
  • Perform basic computer data entry tasks
  • Read print to confirm incoming material meets the spec
  • Process paperwork accurately and efficiently
  • Carefully pack and ship parts
Deburring & Washing Parts
  • Previous experience deburring a plus
  • Attention to fine detail for quality standards
  • Ability to perform repetitive hand work
Deliveries
  • Unrestricted license required
  • Dependable transportation required, truck a plus
  • GPS and cell phone required
  • Capable of safely lifting 50 pounds
Stock Cutting & Material Management

  • Ability to read a blueprint required
  • Math skills to count parts and calculate dimensions
  • Ability to operate a forklift, valid operators’ license a plus
  • Move heavy stock using a hand truck or pallet jack
  • Safely operate band saws and chop saws
  • Label and organize raw materials and finished goods
Cleaning & Maintenance

  • Perform machine maintenance and cleaning in, under, and around machines
  • Return tools and equipment to their proper location
  • Maintain the shop by sweeping, mopping and cleaning
  • Perform simple repairs on machinery
  • Empty all trash and recycling to the dumpsters
  • Organize scrap bins to keep materials separate
  • During snowstorms, keep the doorways and loading dock clear of snow
Other Duties as Required
  • Refilling vending machines
  • Other activities as needed
